Adding to the Family? (and Adjusting your Massachusetts Insurance)

When it comes to making additions to the family there are several factors that come into consideration, one of the biggest ones being financial. Whether you need to deal with the planned or unplanned, it’s good to be on top of the various ways that your expenses may be affected.

For example, if a family member moves in to your home – does that change the coverage that you need on the contents section of your Massachusetts Home Insurance? If a baby comes into the picture – do you have a Massachusetts Life Insurance policy to protect them? Or, if you find yourself on the lookout for a new puppy – did you know that certain breeds can affect your home insurance and may even lead to your coverage being dropped?

My family recently got a new puppy: Black Labrador, Golden Retriever, Newfoundland mix –he’s absolutely adorable and looks like a bear cub but, he’s going to be big! Training him to listen, and not to bite, is especially critical at this point to keep him as low of a risk as possible – the temperament and breed of the dog are important factors when looking for home insurance coverage in Massachusetts.

Knowing the right questions to ask, or at least knowing the right place to raise your concerns, can significantly help you put your mind at ease, keep your wallet stable and keep you and your family protected.
