Amherst Survival Center

It’s that time a year again, where traffic seems to be more annoying, people seem to be more stressed, and parking becomes a game of who has the most guts. I’m talking about the holidays, obviously! But in all seriousness, this is what the holiday season has become. Many people lose sight as to what it is REALLY about.

Yes, it is the season of giving, but it also the season for helping. We are so rushed around, frantically trying to find that cashmere sweater on our sister’s wish list, that we overlook the people in this world who may not even have a meal to eat this Christmas, let alone a roof over their head to eat it under. There are people who need things such as food, shelter, and ANY kind of clothing. I know that when I have seen what Amherst Survival Center does, I now take the time to put things in perspective. I realize that many of our “problems” wouldn’t even be problems in the eyes of the less fortunate. All it takes is a little help from one person to start to turn things around. One shirt, one canned good, and ultimately one moment of your time could make a difference and touch the life of someone around you.

So here at Encharter, we ask that next time you’re stuck in traffic waiting to pounce on that sweater for 10% off, think about how that time may better serve someone else. We’re all in this together so let’s start to lend a helping hand. For more information on Encharter’s Not-for-Profit Partners, visit our Partner’s Page or give us a call at 888-865-1244 so you can get started making someone’s needs a reality.

To find out other ways to help, visit our Facebook page or keep an ear out for tweets this upcoming holiday season.

This is a season of giving and what better way to give than to help others less fortunate. As a parent I try to do this and hopefully set an example for my children. One little act of kindness can go a long way.
    Have a Peaceful Holiday.
