It is certainly frustrating to be in a rush to leave your house and not being able to find your keys. Even more frustrating is losing your keys for good. Even more frustrating than that is losing your keys and having it cost you your car.
That’s right; a woman from Attleboro has a bone to pick with Toyota about her key’s design. Her car is in a parking garage in Providence, RI, two floors underground. Unfortunately, she cannot find the key. This is bad enough, but a tow truck can’t take her car out because the clearance is too low. Toyota needs the car in the dealership to make a new key. Technicians and locksmiths were both at a loss on how to help her because of the advanced technology the key uses.
So although these different style of keys can be nifty (no need to actually insert them in the ignition), apparently there is an overwhelming flaw in their design. Who knows what will become of the car, but it must be removed somehow or continue to rake up fees.
When you purchase a new car, take into consideration what happens when you lose your key. If AAA can’t help our even a tow truck, then you may want to reconsider.
Safety is another thing you should consider when purchasing a new car. Safety ratings and tests are important factors for any cars, especially if you have a family to drive around.
