As Irene has passed and we enter what we think is the calm before the New England winter is in full swing, we must now prepare for supposed heavy rains coming our way. Reporting from Springfield, MA, Fox 6 meteorologist Mike Masco said we should expect around 2 to 4 inches of heavy rain by the end of Friday as well as preparing for the heavy winds to follow. He also added that some Western Massachusetts roadways could see some flooding but the hill towns will be hit the hardest. The rain will start Wednesday night and hopefully end sometime late Friday. This will be followed by a cold front leading into the weekend.
Talk of more flooding leads Western Massachusetts to cringe, especially after the harsh conditions of Irene. Some people were forced to leave their homes while others were left with damage that they could not afford to repair.
