The Destefani family of Mays Landing, New Jersey could not be happier that they agreed to dog-sit their friend’s dog last weekend. Reported by ABC Channel 6 News, Bandit, a Pomeranian Poodle Mix was the only one awake when a fire began in the house during the middle of the night, and his barking and jumping on the family members is what eventually insured everyone got to safety.
The fire was due to a hairbrush that was left in a pot of boiling water for sterilization. The Destefanis forgot that they had begun to sterilize the brush, and went to bed with the flame still on under the pot. Eventually the water evaporated and the brush was left to melt in the pot. Bandit, who quickly hopped into action, picked up the thick black smoke that began to spread through out the house.
