National Flood Insurance Program Still On Hold

Well folks, it seems that those of you waiting to hear about the authorization of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) will have to continue to hold your breath.  Even though the Senate has voted to end the debate over the bill, the vote for an actual decision could be days away, according to a recent article by Insurance Journal.com

What does this mean for you?  Bad news (I like getting the bad news first): this means that you will not be able to renew or change your current flood policy, and purchasing a new flood policy is out of the question…at least for now.  Now for the good news: if you currently have a flood policy, then you’re covered (though your coverage is very policy-specific, so talk to your Encharter agent about your options)!

For more information about flood insurance and the coverage it may provide for you, click here and visit our virtual insurance office at www.encharter.com.  Find us on Twitter© and Facebook© and call us at 888-865-1244. Our expert agents would like to talk with you about your flood insurance policy and any other concerns you might have about Massachusetts homeowner’s insurance, Massachusetts car insurance, Massachusetts life insurance and Massachusetts umbrella insurance.  And be sure to say “hello” to us in our insurance office in Amherst MA, our insurance office in Lexington MA and our insurance office in Reading MA.
