New England Sports Fans, Enjoy Responsibly

Power-hitter David Ortiz will try to lead the Boston Red Sox to the playoffs next year because upper management exercised the club option, which extended his contract one more year through the 2011 season.  Struggling at the beginning of the last two seasons, the veteran Ortiz has proven worthy of a starting spot as one of the best designated hitters in baseball.  He led the team in RBIs and Home Runs for a team that scored the second most runs in all of baseball.

The Red Sox look ahead to next year to develop on a 2010 season that was plagued with injuries.  With a healthy club, the team may be able to give the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays a run for their money.  Victor Martinez, Jason Varitek, and Adrian Beltre are all free agents so the Sox may look to resign them or pick up someone else for free agency.  No matter what happens, sport enthusiasts know there will be an offseason battle between the Red Sox and Yankees to gather the best talent.

As you wait for next season, you may find yourself enjoying football, basketball, or hockey.  Bill Belichick’s defense is looking strong, Rajon Rondo is putting on a show each night, and Tim Thomas is having a record setting beginning of the season.  For the last decade, it has been quite a ride to be a sports fan in New England.  We have been able to throw parties for Super Bowls, World Series, NBA Championships, and NHL playoffs.

As always, no matter which team you will be rooting for, it is best to view the game responsibly.  If you are one to have friends or family over, call your local Lexington, MA Insurance agent at 888-865-1244 to talk about Umbrella Insurance in MA.
