Patriots’ Day 2010

Today is known as Patriots’ Day in Massachusetts.  Some may know it as the day on which the Boston Marathon is held, or some may not know that it has any significance at all.  In any case, it is a very special holiday that encourages us to remember the first battles of our Revolutionary War in the towns of Lexington and Concord in 1775.  It marks the start of our fight for independence and it reminds us that our freedom was not free, but that it came at a very high price.

 Join the rest of Massachusetts in celebrating the conviction and bravery of our founding fathers.  Of course, there is the Boston Marathon; but there are also the battle re-enactments that are held annually in Lexington and Concord (for more information about places and times, click here and click on the “Info for Visitors” link).
