I’m sure that by now, you’re aware of Hurricane Irene making a bee-line for the Northeast. So how can you prepare? Here are some hurricane preparedness tips from Plymouth Rock Assurance Corporation:

  • Create a “Family Emergency Plan”—you want to ensure that every family member knows how to reach or reconnect with each other
  • Assemble an “Emergency Supply Kit” (for recommended contents of an appropriate Emergency Supply Kit, click here)
  • Make sure that you and family members are aware of evacuation routes and the location of potential emergency shelters
  • Your car should be placed in a garage or away from potential flood waters. Well before the storm arrives, fill up the gas in your car in the event you need to evacuate.
  • Track the storm to keep an eye on its progress.

It’s important to be properly prepared and that includes being sure of your coverage. Your current MA Insurance policies have limitations, so NEVER assume that you have coverage, especially in the event of a natural disaster. Please contact your Massachusetts Insurance agent at Encharter Insurance if you have any questions or reservations about your insurance.
