Toyota Recall: Very Important!

According to a Toyota press release from October 20, 2010, a defect regarding a slow leak of brake fluid and potentially a fuel pump problem has resulted in the voluntary recall of 1.53 million cars. This newest recall will bring the total of recalled vehicles (by the Toyota brand) for the year of 2010 to approximately 10 million. The majority of consumers that are said to be affected are in the U.S. and Japan, with a smaller portion in Europe.

Paul Nolasco, spokesman in Tokyo, said “The majority of vehicles this time around need to be fixed for a problem with the brake master cylinder, which could lead to weaker braking power” in an article on WBZtv.com. The official press release also states however, that owners of the affected vehicles (click here to see make/model/year info) will be able to visit their local Toyota and Lexus dealers for repairs/replacements to the brake master cylinder cup free of charge.

If you think that your car is one of the affected models, don’t wait until something has gone seriously wrong to visit your local Toyota or Lexus dealer. We want you and your family to stay safe when you are driving so, if you have any questions regarding your Car Insurance in MA, call 888-865-1244 to speak to your Encharter Insurance agent today!
